Sports and leisure facilities at the house

There is a large carpeted sports hall, ideal for badminton, 5-a-side football and basketball located within the Activity Centre, and available to all guests by arrangement. 

Guests can also take advantage of the estates 75 acres of private land with a number of short walks throughout the grounds and plenty of space for group field games.

Fishing

Gartmore House is situated close to some of Scotland's finest fishing including the Lake of Mentieth and there are wonderful wild brown trout lochs in the National Park.

Outdoor activities and watersports

Situated on the banks of Loch Ard, the Forest Hills Water Sports Centre offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including kayaking, quad bikes, climbing and abseiling.

Cycling

The Trossachs encompasses part of National Cycle Route 7 (Inverness to Glasgow), and provides some of the most scenic trails in the country.

Queen Elizabeth Forest Park

With cycle trails, driving tracks, picnic sites and walking paths through beautiful forest, this park surrounds the local village of Aberfoyle. The visitor centre provides trail maps, exhibitions and has a craft shop and tea room.

Golf

The 18 hole courses in the area will test even the most experienced golfer. Local courses include Aberfoyle (public), Bearsden (public), Strathendrick (public) and Buchanan Castle (private).

The Wool Centre

This interactive Centre gives children the chance to feed young lambs, baby goats (spring time only) and meet the centre's donkeys Bertie and Sammy. The performing sheepdogs provide entertainment by herding - not sheep - but Indian Runner Ducks.
